Day 13 - Sapporo, the conclusion

And this is my last day of going out and enjoying Hokkaido. It was really fun till it lasted 😃 Woke late today and actually just went out at around  3pm. The weather was not helpful, raining pretty hard and I didn't get an umbrella because...I thought it would get better XD First stop was going to the JR tower stellar palace and it was to get sushi that was recommended to me there. It took me some timr to find where to find the stairs then to find a resto but finally I found one and I was not let down. Got myself a nice plate of sushi suring their lunch time period so sushi, miso soup, another dish that was thick in consistency but had mushroom and chicken and of course 3glasses of sake. That was pretty good. After I headed to the Norbesa center which was 7floor but my interest was on the big wheel on the top. At first I lost interest because it was raining but after walking and getting all wet, I tols myself that I might as well do it because all thay walk would've been for naught.

After, I went on a mission to find a place who would serve this famous Genghis Khan dish that is supposed to be lamb mutton on the grill. I walked all over the area to go back to the Sapporo Station thinking I would find one there but then I asked someone there and they told me that I would find it in Susukino...-_-.... basically I had to walk back past the Norbesa center to find. And so I did.... but really...it took me more than 45min to find a place. At first I tried one and they told me they served at 9:30 pm and it was just 7:30.... it was on a 9th floor so I took the elevator to go down and in the elevator there was 3 women with a man, and they started talking to me asking where I came from but they seemed to had a couple of drinks so they were impressed I could understand them and one of them was talking and she sort said that I was beautiful (LOL) or that Canada was beautiful...that was ambiguous but it was a funny moment. Then I went to another one and they told me they didn't have a table so I just left and finally I found one and went in. The place was busy but the food was worth it. I tried 3different meats but my favorite one was the marbled meat....wow.... first time I had that cut and for sure I won't forget the taste and texture of it....never had a meat that was this heavenly haha. After eating I had to walk back to my apartment but I was satisfied that I had the opportunity to eat this dish.

While walking back, I just enjoyed the scene at night, looking back at these last two weeks I was in Hokkaido. For some reason, this part of Japan resonated with me as it had some sort of resemblance with home and the people were very nice, even more so than last year....or simply I have become a little bit more accustomed to this culture that I appreciate a lot. Such a lovely country with such amazing rich history and culture. Itekimasu!

Day 12 - Sapporo

Yeah...i know day 11 got skipped because I didn't do anything XD but as a consequence today was pretty much filled the whole day. Started off by going to the Sapporo Beer Museum but got there too early, around 9:50 and they were opening at 11:30 😂 so at least there was a mall beside so I went to spend some time there until it was time to go.

So then, I went inside the museum for a tour but they were offering a free tour which was basically just walk around some panels and read them or the premium tour....video presentation, a tour guide and 2 sample beers and all of that was for 500yen...yup so not a hard decision haha The tour guide lady, Mai Yamazaki, was very nice and was always handing me the English versions of the things that she was talking about, our group was less than 10 people so hopefully it wasn't troublesome. After the tour ended , we ended getting our samples with a small bag of nuts or wasabi flavored nuts and it went well with the beer. And beside me was a guy nice enough to translayesome parts she was explaining as she was showing us the perfect way to enjoy/ pour a Sapporo beer from a can to a glass where we end up with 60 beer: 40 foam to get the best results. After everyone left, I went to get myself a 3beer deal for 600yen which were all good. And the person who was translating joined me to drink some beer also. His name is King and he is a chinese, born in Hawaii but lives in Japan and speaks very good Japanese haha way better than mine. So I had the opportunity to converse with him and in the end I ended up drinking like 11 beers total 😂 They were tasty I can say ( happy canada day haha)

After the beer run, I headed towards Odori park, there was supposed to be an underground mall sort of thing and I got there but was disappointed, not what I expected. It covered maybe more or less a Km but maybe less. What I ended up doing was eat haha so it had a good part to it at least. After getting food, I went straight for Mt. Moiwa and that was a good 6-7 km walk but enjoyable because I was seeing part of the city.

After the long day, I took a tram train because I didn't want to walk at least 12 km back to the appartment haha and it dropped me off close to the Sapporo station and from there I walked back home, to finally give a rest to my feet...wooo
